Especially if you sold a coupla brands of smokes and a Mt Dew or Dr Pepper too.

What kind of "smokes?"

Being today and all...

Well, being as how Birdie is Down South, it would likely have to be the Big Tobacco kind.

But those will kill ya...

It's such a tacky business our local Lords denied it a zoning change, although Bucees would pay for rerouting an expensive interchange already planned, bring in $20,000,000.00 tax revenue annually, require virtually no municipal services, stimulate interest in local downtown, and spin off small retail business on adjacent property. It was a really tacky idea!

It is a weird experience for sure, proves my age and alien origin. Decent BarB Q sandwich....

Great jerky and some of the best banana and coconut pudding cups I ever ate. I heard the sandwiches are pretty good but have not tried one yet.

We had our Thanksgiving "dinner" there in 2022 on our way to Georgia.
Nice crapatorium and the food didn't make us puke. Win-win.
They sure had a lot of stuff in there.

Convenience stores are for cripples and old women.

I don't like them.

Good clean johns, cheapest gas, expensive food, and it's a human zoo most of the time. I get in and get out ASAP.

C-stores are the only place to buy beer.

That or the little, crowded grocery store and I hate going in there when it's busy.

Town Pump for the win.

Been a LONG time ago, but stopped at the one in West, Texas on IH35 just north of Waco a time or two. Killer kolaches! Bet it's been 35 years since I've been through that country!

Next time any of you are in one, notice that the merchandise is not Walmart merchandise.

In 1970, Schlitz Brewing came to the city heads in Palestine, TX wanting to build a brewery.
"We have a commercial park with lots of land! Whatever you need! A cool million per acre!"

The Schlitz guys went to Longview, TX.
City fathers told Schlitz, "We have this commercial land available. Build your brewery here and you can lease the land for a $1/year for 100 years.
Schlitz built not only a brewery, but a canning facility and a plant that made the cans!
Schlitz has since sold out to Stroh's. Not sure who owns it now!

Yeah...but the grocery store just asks for my phone number when I charge my beer.

I have to remember my wallet if I go to town pump.

Unfortunately Town Pump is the only place to get MGD bottles.

The struggle is real.
