I helped a neighbor who was a professional interior finish guy for a couple of weeks, smearing plaster, breaking stone floors, etc. He had relatively skill less me install all the switch plates on three houses. I “Timed” every screw out of gunsmith/armorer habit.

I taught my crew to time the screws. One knucklehead thought they should be horizontal and we had to retrain him...LOL

I always time the screws; do it on about anything when I have enough torque tolerance

My aunt was very obsessive over the screws on all the light-switches in her house needing to be timed. I made a point to always change just 1 screw somewhere in the house every time I visited...

lol. The original gas light. You're my kinda people. smile

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

How many retirees does it take to change a light switch?

Just one, but it'll be an all day job...

Those screws around here seem to not care about the time.

Yes. It's best if gun nuts what their hands between pouring powder and doing electrical work.

Looks good OP

Timing the screw heads was ingrained in me as a former apprentice electrician and doing “workman like work” but I noticed it on my guns too.

The good electricians I know do it.
