OMG! I had one and foolisly sold it. But they weren't bring the money they are now. The first two digits of the serial number will tell you the year...

Nice, I would have been in the market for one of these a year ago, but I've decided my 308MXLR is sufficient. Incredibly accurate lever actions, it's a shame that Marlin doesn't make them. Maybe they'll reintroduce them now that Ruger is making such nice ones these days.

That looks rather desirable…. Can you use standard ammo in these or do you need unique ammo?

Any interest in a trade on a case color hardened Taylor 1886 45-70 BNIB? I could maybe even add some cash

It’s the .338 Marlin Express, ammo specific to the Marlin levers. If you’re asking if .338 of any other type, .338 win mag, etc, they are not interchangeable.

Look closer as the ad states;
Limited run model in 07-08
Which most factory ammo is going to be "Pointed" and with a tubular magazine you'd want a "Round or Flat Nose" ammo so I can see a valid question here.....

only two types of ammo was made for this rifle, Remington 250 grain round nose and the 200 grain Hornady FTX flex tip. Hard to find the Remington but the hornady shot very well in these rifles.

All I used was Hornady 200 grain FTX in it and it ran flawlessly.

For clarification yes this is a 338 Marlin Express cartridge and the rifle was produced in 2007-2008 .
