For Blackberries. This patch isn't great. I have my eye on a patch that may be the best I have ever found. We'll see how they develop.

We had our last (I hope) freeze this past week, so our berries will bloom soon. Looks like your berry season will be in full swing before we get stained fingers.
Did I hear someone say "cobbler"?

These are along the MS River Levee. I stopped in a few spots. Each spot had berries of different shape, sizes, and flavor. None of them were outstanding. Too tart, too bitter, or too watery.

We lost 2 of our 4 cattle panels of berries during last years drought. The 2 panels that survived are not doing very well. They are just now starting to put on leaves. Going to be awhile.

Are those dew berries or black berries..... I'm betting dew berries this early in the year. Those pics look like dew berries, also. Way up here in the far northern parts of Louisiana, the dew berries grow close to the ground, while the black berries grow on thorny stems, some head high or higher. The dew berries are in bloom, but the black berries haven't started, yet. Dew berries are typically larger, also.

Often bigger but not as flavorful as blackberries. My blackberry patch has its first berries starting to turn pink.
