So a buddy gave me a slide and a couple mags for a Ruger SR40c

It’s been sitting and could never find a lower to mate it

Well today I picked up a Ruger SR9c
The slide goes right on both look the same

Are the lowers the same
Would it be safe and OK to put the 40 slide on and shoot it?
Seems like it should be ok
Is there any issues that I should concider?

I don't see a problem, there is just the one frame size. From the start the 40 S&W was designed to fit in a 9mm frame. I bought an optics ready 9mm slide which fits and operates fine on my 40 M&P frame. Prior to that I swapped slides between my 9mm and 40 S&W Springfield XD guns without issue. I have read of and know others who have done the same with Glocks.

It’s how I am thinking
