Huizar is a former Yakima police officer and school resource officer. Huizar worked for YPD between 2014 and 2022 but it’s not clear where he’d been working since he left the department.

According to one of the links in the 1st post he had been substitute teaching up until June of last year. The rape accusation I have seen was from earlier this year so that wasn't the WTF?!?! it Originally seemed to be. "Huizar is a former Yakima Police Department officer who was last employed in February of 2022. The suspect was employed as a substitute teacher who last taught in June 2023, according to Shelley Redinger, Superintendent for Richland School District."
