I don't have an account, but play semi regularly.
My initial word for #1039 got two letters in position, two out of position. Done in 3 attempts. I attribute that to my laser like focus.
#1038, IIRC was a crap shoot, with about 4-5 words ending in the last 4 letters, and of course those were the ones I came up with. Had a jolly time of it, using all 6 attempts.
FatCity - the magic starting word for me is "SALET", which took over from "STARE".

Tried it. Got bored with it after a couple weeks and quit. Same here. The only problem is I have a friend who plays it and feels the need to give me a play by play account of his attempts at figuring it out.
