We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.

I think i've heard this before..

Blacks should follow suit and show those rich whites they can do the same thing, who needs whites anyway.

One of the major problems that companies have that are based or have bases in Baton Rouge is getting employees from outside to move to baton rouge and go through the chairs to develop their employees.

It is mandatory for that employee to factor in the costs of private school or live outside of Baton Rouge in another parish and commute to town. For this reason the creation of Saint George city will really raise the property values there and sharply increase housing demand for that area just due to the ideal proximity and a solid public school system.

What an interesting story. You can bet more than just legal courtroom wrangling occurred. I'm sure it took voting into office preferred candidates and appointing like-minded Judges and administrators into office. Congratulations on their success. Hopefully we will see this now as a case law precedent.

The problem with balkanization is twofold , first it would destroy the country as defense would be spread too thin etc
But take for instance just Iowa,, republican state but 30+% of pop lives in democrat or very liberal cities. Which separate the state in middle unlike Illinois which has Chicago and Champaign on one side. So how would u split? Force the liberal to agree or move? Then step it up if u consider the Midwest a state, got Minneapolis democrat St. Louis democrat Chicago democrat so how would u draw a line? Can’t see Minneapolis rolling over ?

The Louisiana Supreme Court only sided with the breakaway by a margin of one vote. This is very bothersome.

Precedents were already well established with the cities of Zachary, Baker and Central breaking away forming their own cities and school districts, law enforcement, councils, etc.

So it is constitutionally legal for a portion of a municipality to remove itself from the whole. Following that logic, it would then be legal for a portion of a county or a portion of a state to remove itself from the greater whole.

But it was acceptable to sacrifice scores of thousands of blue & grey soldiers in order to prevent a portion of a nation to act in a constitutionally legal manner to remove itself and form a more perfect nation.

I think it's a damn shame what is happening in BR.

Never been wealthy, and I'm watching wealth become a Balkanization tool.
Both on the hate the wealthy front, and the move that has money buying privileges
at events, parks, hunting... always has. Just not so blatantly.

This is being touted as racial, many such things are more economic.
There will be a lot of not wealthy people of different races negatively affected by this move.


If I were in the shoes of the folks who did this?
I would too.
Or else move.


We bought the cheapest house in a fancy neighborhood.
We didn't buy a nicer house in the scrappy part of town where prices are lower.
We made somewhat similar money choices, they just look better on the surface.

It seems we have come full circle. The purpose of the civil rights movement in the 1960’s was to integrate the races and make everyone equal in the eyes of the law. Then came affirmative action which gave preference to minorities when equally qualified and eventually gave preference to minorities at the expense of more qualified people. Then we saw minorities exclude other races from their organizations like the NAACP and Negro College Fund and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and even their communities. Why is anyone surprised certain races don’t want to live in these schidt hole communities with other races?
