I got it prior to back surgery so the 4 hour round trip to get to the nearest Costco was very unpleasant. I never went back for a follow up appointment. They might have been able to fix the problem if I had gone back for a follow up. I know lots of people have been very pleased with their Costco results.
After I turned 65 and bought Medicare supplement I went to a local provider. Their test results were quite different than the ones I got from Costco. Local provider ordered a "cross over system". My left ear is pretty much gone but the hearing aid in there picks up higher pitched sounds and transmits them to my right ear. Like a radio repeater system.
Cost would have been 4000.00 but the supplement paid half of that. I don't have any sense of direction for where sound is coming from but I can enjoy music again and I no longer drive my wife out of the room by playing the TV to loud.

HUH! Is the correct response. I gave my Costco ones away. Went and spent 3800 for a good pair and they suck as bad as the 1500 dollar Costco ones. My single 25 year old one is still the best. Edk
No one provider can satisfy everybody's hearing loss. Just like no car maker can provide for everybody's driving needs. Most people are more than happy with Costco's services.
My Mom gave up on her Costco hearing aids because she can't put them in herself. She has arthritis in her fingers pretty bad so lacking the dexterity to get them in.
What a waste of money and I'm the one that talked her into getting them.

Technology advances in a competitive market make it hard for one company to stay in first place. Resound was great. The office was the best. They changed policies in a profit motive. Switched to Phonec which is good. Aetna advantage paid half of my new Oticon. They’re ok but seem to have fallen off after a few years. Hearing could be worse too. The office is good. But a la carte services too. Siemens has always been top end. Replacing batteries is ridiculous.
I agree about the advances in technology the wireless in hearing aids. I connect to my iPhone and that makes phone conversations way easier than the speakerphone was along with audible and music.
I’ve had Oticon and Starkey. Both work reasonably well for me. Both are expensive, $6000 plus.
I am on my second pair of Starkey's. Have the blue tooth version with the app for my iPhone. LOVE THEM ! Expensive, yes. But feel naked with out them now. Telephone calls directly to my hearing aids. GPS driving directions direct to hearing aids. Video audio tracks and church music are wonderful.
Eventually, hearing loss can reach a point where there's not much a hearing can do. I'm about to that point except for lower frequency sounds which the aid still helps with. The doc says the next step would be a cochlear implant. At 74, I think I'll pass on that. I've used Starkey's for over 35 years. They've been ok and I never wanted to gamble the high cost for a different brand. I have no hearing at all on my right side so tried the bi-cross aids for a while but they lacked the amplification I can get without that feature. Turkey season opens here tomorrow. That's a challenge for the deaf!
ive had costco hearing aids for 12-13 yrs. will buy my 3rd set soon from them. 1700.00 is alot better than 8000.00 from the hearing center. you still cant buy good ones any cheaper any place else. i use the battery changing ones. the rechargable ones suck. bluetooth is the only way to go.
