About five years ago just prior to spring season (saltwater flats / inshore) I took out everything I really use on a day out and put the stuff. I dont use on another pile. The pile of dont use was three times bigger than the pile of stuff I use. My box got a lot easier to carry to the boat. I catch as many fish and dont have wade thru tons of tackle.
I set up an area that I keep all my lures and terminal tackle in plano boxes. Now before I go out for the day I only loadout what I think I will need that trip. That helped me considerably.
Life can be rough on us dreamers.

Wish I was able to fish. Pinched nerve at L5-S1 has sucked all the good out of life lately.
Nice boxes! I wouldn't know what to do with half of it.

Caught a pile of pike on those Red Eyes. That and the scum frog - fished slow across the surface in the shallows. Love topwater for pike, exciting fishing.

My gear was for salt H20 but when the last of my three sons graduated and left home, I sold the boat and gave all of the diving and off shore fishing gear to my middle son who is an avid outdoorsman. Happy not to have to keep up with all that gear these days. One of our last dive trips, a nice Cobia I speared with his assist.

I’ve got so much tackle I keep it in two different losctions, freshwater at the house, saltwater where the boat is housed. When I go it’ll be the mother of all garage sales, all the other scumbags picking my bones!😂

I’m not really a fisherman but I recognize some of those lures. 😊

I have mine separated between summer and winter and had a lot of both. My winter box was stolen so I had to start over and have a lot more than I did before. Not sure why, I don't ice fish near as much as I used to.

Yes. I recall the days when I went fishing with a stick, string, bent pin, and a Band-Aid box of worms in my pocket. Now it takes a long bed crew cab pickup to carry/tow all my gear.

Too familiar - much fun looking at and hearing about your stuff guys, but even though it all got sorted /organized when we moved, something needs to be done. Too much gear - not enough time.

I use the McManus method. Just spin the ball of lures until something looks good and pluck it off.

For all the chinook gear I keep around, last year over 90% of the kings boated were caught with one type of lure (2 copies of it), both are probably 60-80 years old. Tough to explain that to the wife.

Tough to explain that to the wife. I have had Kenai River fishing guides tell me much the same thing. Two or three of their lures out fish even "identical" ones. Little bit different balance/ action or something.

I see lots of Mepps Cyclops spoons in your tackle box. They’re deadly on pike. I’m 3.5 weeks from an annual trip to Canada where ill use that lure almost exclusively for a week. Those are good Dale. Toss in a good doctor spoon or two as well. Change out the lure trebles for a single 4-5 size hook and slip a short piece of rubber tail on that hook and you will be in tall cotton. Osky Thanks, I’ll try that.

My tackle box prob weighs 25-30 lbs all the stuff in it. Doesn't include fly gear.

' I sometimes wonder if the wife will give all my gear away or just sell it at giveaway prices. I hope I get to watch the fool that gets my direct drive Curado.

I figure I've got all this money in lures my guess is about three bucks a piece maybe maybe I have a couple of buck 99 lures still in the crowd but some of my $50 lures wipe them right out I've invented a hook but I haven't found a way to get somebody to make it for me I'm going to retry those mini spin people and see if they got a path to let me in.
