Went to the show at the Winnebago County fairgrounds in Pecatonica, IL Saturday. First show in several years, as my wife's homebound, and it is hard to get out. The show was not very good, with many fewer guns than I remembered. There were two that caught my eye, same dealer, next to each other on the rack. Remington 25's, one in 32/20 and one in 25/20. Both were excellent externally, don't know about the bores. They were of interest because I had had a 141/2 years ago. One was 1400, and the other was 1600. I'm pretty old to be buying anything more, but although the prices seemed high, I felt a little tingle. Are these prices in the ballpark these days? What little expertise I have is in Savage 99's.

Dave seems high to me, 2 years ago at a show I saw a really nice 25-20 m25 for $650 but they don't grow on trees. Mb

Dave, I wasn't at that show, but if one was a carbine I think it was the same dealer who's had them a while. The carbine has been completely refinished, I didn't look close at the other one but I think it was too. He bought out a large collection and many of the guns had been refinished. The carbine did have the correct rear sight.

Good to hear you were able to get out for a little while.

I saw one in 32-20 at a show in march. They were asking 1350. Don’t know if it sold or not. I paid 850 for my 25-20, but that was seven years ago, and we all know what Remington prices have done since then.

I have one in 25-20. Never seen very many of either in my multi decades of collecting. Hung it all up over a decade ago and haven't been to a show or shop since! Of course the quality of shows nowadays in California, it was down to 'maybe' 30% guns & maybe 10% of those as even interesting. In respect of gun collecting, for me the "good old days", were just that!
Crotchety old man...
Best!
