Remington 341-P. bolt action, tube feed, .22 short, long and long rifle. peep sight, swivels, sling, butt cuff, [1934]

A gift from an uncle. I sold it when I was leaving for Nam. Foolish move. I bumped into a replacement early this year.

Only two that really irk me, case hardened colt buntline rimfire with both cylinders and a sako finnfire. Sort of wish I kept a prelock 629 and a couple 4in 19s I had in nickle and blued.

Wish I had a S&W Model 57 41Mag w/ 7.5" barrel. Wish I would have kept a 8 3/8" 629 44mag. Other than that, I like to buy, try, sell and repeat.

Bought a Remington 788 243 back in the early 70's. Crazy accurate, and used it for a truck gun and as a loaner for my little brothers. Started shooting other rifles, and traded it for a black powder rifle. Wish I had kept it.

I got one of my dream guns from a member on here several years ago, a 700 LVSF in 17 Remington. Shot very good like it was supposed to, but I sent it down the road after shooting a couple of coyotes. One ran off after being shot in the chest, and the other took 3 shots to put it down. Later on figured maybe I should have used a different bullet maybe. Don't really miss it, but stll wish I'd kept it.

I had all three kit guns at the same time. Model 63, 651 and 631
Also the 686 .357 Mountain Gun.

A few custom Single Actions I worked up and sold. One with ivory grips by one of the famous grip makers. I can't remember his name now.

A custom through Turnbull low serial numbered Single Action.

Probably more but the pain of remembering I let them go is hurting too much to keep thinking about.

I enjoy all of them but usually the shine passes and I want something new. Only one I wish I still
Had was a 2nd year sweet 16 that I sold when I left for service. Have replaced it now but it’s not in near the condition of my first.

the two that still hurt the worst were a WWII Browning HP with Kreigsmarine markings and a tangent sight. Second was a Ruger Mannlicher stocked M77 with tang safety. It was chambered in .250/3000.

I sorta treasure most of my guns. Unless there is something that I really dislike, I’ll hang on to them until they throw dirt on my face, and they’ll belong to Ben and any grandkids I leave behind.
The only one I really regret part with was a Charles Daily single shot trap gun. It was one of those made by Moroku in Japan in the 1970s.
I had pretty much quit shooting trap after Uncle Bud quit.
Bud wasn’t blood, but a hunting and shooting friend I came to know and treasure in the late 80s after I got out of the Army.
He was a Viet Nam vet who had lost both legs to a boobytrapped hooch.
I was just starting, using an old Mossberg field gun. An Bud give me that Daily to try.
I really liked it, and I told him to take it home and clean it and I would buy it when I saved up the $600 asking price. He said “no. YOU take it home and clean it, and when you save up the money you can settle up with me!”😀
A couple weeks later we were at a shoot and another guy asked me where I got that Daily. He had wanted to buy it, but Bud wouldn’t sell!😳 I told Bud he could have it back to sell to “Skeeter”, but he said “I don’t want Skeeter to have it, I wanted You to have it!”
We took turns driving to shoots, quizzing eachother on old country music on the radio😀, and I often helped him going hunting with two prosthetic legs from the knee down. His kids had grown up and I was sorta adopted as a surrogate!.😀
I had that gun 5 or 6 years. He finally quit shooting trap, and without a partner, I started building a race car for Windber.
I eventually sold it back to him, and bought an over & under hunting shotgun.
Bud and I stayed close until he died in 2012.
I wish i Had kept it, but with no partner to shoot with and a race car on the weekends, my priorities sorta switched around.
I miss Uncle Bud, but with shotgun shells over $40 bucks a hundred and gas near $4, I can’t really afford to go shooting anyway. But the gun would be nice to have as a souvenir from a very close friend I miss and admire.

I agree. If I do more than scratch the surface on this I'll end up curled in a fetal position on the floor

Yep, and if you include cars and trucks that got away in the conversation, a strait jacket will be necessary.

Truth!

Guns not so much. Definitely a few vehicles! I get close to tears just seeing a first generation Monte Carlo fixed up at a show!😟
Not so much regretting the car, just remembering the great times that I had when I was young.

It would be a very long list because I'm constantly selling something in order to buy something that I think I must have. Especially painful to think about is a pair of Remington 700 Classics -- .35 Whelen and 6.5x55 -- and a pair of Winchester 1885's -- .22 lr and 6.5x55 -- that I sold here a few years ago. Hope those last two are getting well used!

My list of guns that I “wish that I’d bought” is much longer that those I regret selling! memtb
