Why did the majority of Democrats vote to keep McJohnson as Speaker?

Wouldn’t this have been a good opportunity for them to elect Jeffries? All they would had needed was 2 RINOS to vote with them.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

What's your solution?

Does the Uniparty exist? 100% it does. Speaker Johnson is exhibit A of that.

Is the federal government budget bloated? 100% it is bloated.

Would cutting it in 1/2 actually mean you don't get the things the .fed .gov SHOULD be doing and providing for ? I don't believe so in the least. We absolutely CAN have a common defense, justice system, effective public works on 1/2 of what the federal government spends in the Macro right now. I'm not saying cut each thing they do in 1/2 - I'm saying ELIMINATE all things which aren't necessary or part of a government's duty. There's so much damned overlap.

81 years ago, the federal budget included 0 dollars for cutting checks to people. Now, it's more-than 50% of the federal tax revenue. When the voting takers outnumber the voting makers, we're done. It's coming soon.

I was just correcting the arithmetic with a post of seven words and numbers. I made no comment on the merits of any vote(s).

I was scratching my head over the same thing. Something mysterious is going on here. I don't think us "rank 'n file" have visibility on something.

No, but we can speculate. Let’s have a look at some of the possible reasons why.

1) The Democrats are perfectly fine with McJohnson remaining Speaker during this election year. He gives them everything they want and then some no need for a change. Not only do they get everything they want, McJohnson gets to take the blame.

2) The Republican electorate is pissed, the longer McJohnson stays at the helm, the more pissed they will get. Pissing off your electorate during an election year is not a winning strategy.

Never Interfere With Your Enemy While He is in The Process of Destroying Himself.

3) In Politics, going from 0 support to overwhelming support is often times accomplished one way, back room deals.
McJohnson and the Democrats have worked out some sort of deal, a deal that somehow includes stopping Trump and The MAGA Agenda.

4) The Democrats know who the next couple Republicans are that are going to jump ship thus handing the majority back to the Democrats. No need to rush things, they will get their House back when the time is right and Again the Republicans will get the blame pissing off their constituents even more.

Im sorry, you are wrong. Voting for a rino who will side with the dems is not the answer. Thinking like you are has given us the current state of the republic.
And voting for independents got us Demons in the presidency at least once before.
A RINO is preferable to a Newsome, Pelosi, etc.

Maybe McKev wasn't quite as Uniparty aligned as Johnson is?

I honestly can't say for certain but it sure does seem that more Uniparty legislation has gone through since Johnson was seated.

Again, I'm unsure but it odd that the D's voted for him in near unison.

Maybe, but it is clear that McJohnson is no friend of The Republic

No, but we can speculate. Let’s have a look at some of the possible reasons why.

OK, try this on for size:

Taking out Trump as a candidate is the Big Trophy. Control of the House is big, but secondary.

1. Wait for a Trump felony conviction. That's the excuse to vote him as ineligible.

2. With conviction in hand, cover now provided for a few select (bribed) Republicans to vote along with all Democrats to vote Trump ineligible (Orange Man Bad, Constitutional Crisis, for the good of the country, etc.).

3. Democrats can then blame Republicans for tossing Trump overboard since they voted for it too. This all happens as close as possible to Election Day, leaving Team Trump little to no time to react. He's off the ballot, no time to even replace.

4. One candidate election. Newsom, who took Joe's place during the DNC Convention, is declared the WINNER!!. Trump hauled off to jail. Stalin would be proud.

5. A few (bribed) Republicans then resign, under the cover of "recent disgusting events". The House now belongs to Democrats and Trump is out. Mass arrests of MAGA supporters begins (Red Flag laws, or something). The Plan is complete.

Once again, Timing is everything.

This is why I have repeatedly said, Military arrests will have to occur prior to election day. The Coup d'état is exposed, the the instigators are rounded up. EPIC. One candidate election alright and it's Trump! And the REAL FUN begins.

The OCTOBER SURPRISE to beat all. This one is for all the marbles. Put your helmets on.
