Christians were 100X more obnoxious and dangerous in those days than they are now, so it was play along or get killed or ostracized...they're not very open minded. These days they're on the verge of irrelevance, and I can't wait to watch Christianity's influence in American die off.

Even though that influence allowed you to enjoy the country as it stands. Without that burdensome protestant christian influence we'd have never achieved what we have.

You've always been a commie fugk regardless the handle you posted under.

This is inaccurate.

The church had no problem with heliocentricis.

It was accepted as a theory, but technology was not advanced enough to make a scientific proof.

The church resisted calling it a proven fact and was satisfied when it was dealt with as a scientific theory/discussion. Copernicus was fine with thus

Galileo was satisfied with that for many years.

But egos got involved. At one point he wrote a paper that contained an insult to the Pope (Pope Urbain?). He used an argument suggested by the Pope and labeled as made by a moron (rough translation).

I'm no historian but from what little I've read about him, Isaac Newton was nutty as a squirrel turd and spent a lot of his life playing with magic potions, obsessing over his mother, and hiding from women lest they taint his purity with their scary vaginas.

I'm not sure if anyone could say for certain what that crazy fugger believed in.

Because He has written his laws on their hearts. They hear and they believe. My experience with believers is that they represent pretty much a cross section of humanity.

They were born into that time and that culture. Just like the Greeks believed in Zeus, Apollo, Athena, so believed the Christians in Yahweh in their place, time and era.

Some of the early scientists and founding fathers were not Christians, but Deists.

The God of Deism is not the God of Christianity, Judaism or Islam.

A personal belief in God is irrelevant to doing science.

Until science comes to its limitation and then scientists are forced to capitulate to ideas like Intelligent Design.

Why didn't Galileo make your list?

If there something about him you don't want to discuss?

Some of my worst encounters with People were Christians. Fact!

I'm a solid Christian and I would agree with that statement.

I would suspect that those difficult people PROFESSED to be Christians more than they were Christian. But your points are well taken

Exactly...

No possible way that "all of this" (man, nature, climate in perfect balance) could happen randomly.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Actually completely spot on and people much smarter than you agree but go on and refute my claim.
