I wore my Midsouth Shooters Supply knit cap to the infusion lab, the juice is cold going into the vein. But my hydronic furnace keeps the house warm enough.
But mine doesnt have a ball on top you into the ketamine infusion thing 🙄 google says the pompoms may have been used to protect the user's head from low ceilings, who knew....

Back to the question in the OP. A sleeping cap is a theatrical prop used to show that the actor is supposed to be in bed.

Keeps your greasy head off the pillow? And this keeps your high-end 600+ fill Goretex sleeping bag clean and oil free so you dont have to have it dry cleaned every few years. I use an Army balaclava, smooth and doesnt slide off.

Keeps your greasy head off the pillow? More likely it was to keep the greasy pillow off your head. When sleeping caps were popular, linens weren't changed very often.

If you ever slept in a tent in sub-zero weather, you'd know. This Wool toboggins are nice to have to add to a cap when it gets real cold also, especially on windy winter days.

On the knit cap thing
Why do Millennials wear them when it’s 90+ degrees walking down the side of the road?
Steve, ya got anything on this? Because they're douche' bags?

Ok fair enough
But what is the puffy ball for? Well it appears that the collective has yet to answer the question asked. The puffy ball makes it easier to remove the hat while wearing your big furry mittens. You are welcome. Stay tuned for more handy hints from Lapland. mike r

But mine doesnt have a ball on top No ball on top, that's a Canuck thing. They loves their toques. Friggin dingly balls. I prefer the dingle ball. Keep it up Bub and they'll make you an honorary Canadian and start charging you Canadian taxes too. You're close enough they will try to pass it off as a clerical error or their GPS mapping was affected by sunspots or something.
