If I got one it'd be for nostalgia for basic, and I have very little nostalgia for basic. Put a lot of rounds down range through several, but don't miss it. An A1 maybe, but not the worn out ones we had.

Is this an actual problem, or just Bbl. snobbery?

Please explain.

TIA

I've got a BA 16" mid-gas barrel on an upper. I don't have any complaints with it. Here's a 100-yard target with irons, and PMC 62gr green tip.

This is one of the nitride barrels, but I see BA is now also offering chrome-lined barrels.

Sub-3MOA Bbl., w/ green tip/apertures?

Works for me.

Would suspect probably closer to 2MOA w/ M193.

And the SA-16A2 has a chrome lined bore.

The problem isn’t a BA barrel, it’s asking SA to assemble it correctly.

One could always get a Colt AR15A4, it comes with an ambi safety already installed and a removable carry handle to allow the use of optics.

Local store is selling them for $999.99.

I’ve been wanting an A2 repro and I was never aware of anybody making one in recent years. I’d like to have one of these SA rifles. I’m sure it’s just as good in quality as the colts and FNs that were issued to us.

I get the nostalgia and like some of the features, but the ship has sailed on ARs with no rail space, for me anyway, and while I can suffer irons under some conditions, optics are waaayyyy better. Hitting is cooler than not hitting.

I carried an M16a1 for 18 months guarding a missile base so I had to build one for old times sake. I shot it right after building it and it's been in the safe ever since. But, just like me there are guys and gals who packed around an A2 "the musket" in various faraway lands and maybe they want one for home. Just because. I get it.

I have never owned a SA rifle, Colt's, DD, Noveske, plus parts from many other companies. Blue why do you feel the SA rifles are put together wrong?

Although the rifles are cool, and I have BUIS on all my rifles, going backwards from a red dot or LPVO to irons as a primary is like going from a red dot, to Novaks, to WW2 sights on a 1911.

Looks cool. Not better for fighting.

Waaaaaaaaaaaay more gun than anything from SA, that's not a 1911. At a great price.

YMMV

Same price OTD as the Springfield.

Both have chrome lined bores and M4 feed ramps, but it's ~ 1/4 lb heavier.

What makes it better?

I’d argue the a2 sight is better. The removable carry handle sight doesn’t have the 8/3-2 feature.
