Just a quick update for you all.

All Short and Long actions are either in house, on order (usually within 60-90 days) or parts are on the way. We are currently doing more finishing work on the actions to decrease the amount of time you would need to put in on them to fit your specific needs. And we are always looking for ways to continuously improve them.

The Professional Hunter is in production, with some small parts still in the finishing stage. We were hoping to have a sample by SHOT, but will have them shortly after. I will post pics and updates as I can.

We are currently running a special on ALL Long Action Left Hand models. Now (1-17-08) thru the end of the month or until quantities run out, you will receive an 8% discount!

With your sale on the lefties, what would the retail price be for a stainless left handed barreled action for the .338/06 and a 375 H&H?

Great...just when I thought it was safe for me to get rid of my 50 blank. I'll need a new scapegoat now!

What is the price of the long left-hand action after the discount, i.e., do the prices on the website reflect the discount ? Might just post the prices here on the forum thread (if that is not against the rules)...

Jim Brockman of Idaho has an extended floorplate magazine for your action which adds magazine capacity. I have three of them on Montana actions. Their appearance and function are nice.

Do you keep these in stock so that they can be added to an order and Montana Rifle can install them ?

Hammer,
What does Jim charge for the extended floorplate? How many rounds do they add?
Thank you

On the road right now and don't have my notes with me.

They're not too expensive.

From my poor memory, they add two rounds, which in the African dangerous game calibers is worthwhile.

They can be removed and the original floorplate replaced easily and do not require any alteration of the stock.

Art,
Sorry I was not on any of the forums at all this weekend. We don't supply anything different like that, you would have to get those from Jim directly. The sale pricing on the SS are $567.64 and CM are $535.44.

I ordered two actions on 18 Jan 08. I will keep this thread appraised if the actions ship on time.
I was told by MontanaJeff (JSMT) they would ship out as soon as his gunsmith checked them out on 22 Jan.

Just ordered one this week. Of course, I wont be home to pick it up for about 3 months, so delivery time is not an issue. I ordered one in 2004, and they were just as friendly and helpful this time as last time.

I had a painful and really annoying experience with MRC, along with many others. But a lot of people have also been pleased with them.

Not to beat on MRC but...
7x57, You and me both. I had the rifle for three years and never got to hunt with it because it was back at the shop so much.
But others seem to have had good experience with them.

Until it was stolen, I had a 243AI that Redneck built for me on the MRC action.
No problems, excellent shooter, and dang nice looking action. I loved it and would like to take the larynx out of the throat of the person who stole it.

I really miss that rifle.

Two good 'uns out of two, here.. grin Glad I was patient. I hope they stay around and continue to grow. It was surely painful to watch some of the issues that happened during the start-up. Sounds like things are smoothing out.

Actions came today as promised.
Thank you.
One will be made into a 35 Whelen:)
And a pleasant surprise, the 06 sized action will easily hold five down!

Was talking to a fellow today that has two lemons that don't feed worth a damn. One's an AI Bob and the other's a 6.5 Swede. I think that in the end it might have been a smith problem, but he's blaming the smith and the action equally.

Sadly it was not the time or place for a lowball offer.

I rolled those dice and craped out! After having the barrel replaced the action squared and the trigger worked on it is good.
