Includes integral hardware, barrel band rear sight island with integral
recoil lug, barrel mounted sling swivel, and banded from sight island.
The barrel was supposed to be Chrome Moly, but was discovered to be
stainless after the work was completed. My loss is your gain.

The barrel measures a hair over 24", weighs 3lbs, 2oz, and mics .716 at
the muzzle. It is threaded for a standard large ring Mauser. 1.1" x 12 TPI.
I am told that it will fit a Dakota Magnum action as well as a few
others.

This barrel cost $1450 to duplicate to this point. It can be yours for $950
shipped. You save $500 plus the time for the barrel to be made and the
work to be completed.

Credit Cards OK.

Here is what it will look like completed:

CAS: Curious, why a barrel band on the heavy calibers vs. traditional QD stud in the stock? Tradition or Logic?

The logic is that it moves the stud farther from your hand. On a heavy kicker, this could prevent the stud from slamming into your hand under recoil.

Some people also point out that the rifle hangs lower when slung. Personally, I think that is a pretty weak benefit, because the only place it would matter would be in thick brush. If I'm in thick brush, I want the rifle in my hands.

It's killing me.

Were there not a 416 Rigby and a 416 Rem Mag in the safe already, this would have already been whipped up into another rifle. Even so, there is a Dakota Safari action that may be heading this way.

The work on this barrel is typical of Duane's work, which is to say phenomenal.

I am not 100% sure, but I think it is a Pac-Nor. At least that is what the original seller told me. However, he also told me that it was chrome moly.

It is definitely a top grade, lapped custom, as the bore is excellent.
