Well after a year of planning, waiting and finally assembly today here's the pictures of my first custom rifle.

Specs
Caliber: 257 Roberts
MRC Short action
Barrel Lilja #2 contour at 23"
McMillan Edge Olive with black web by Rick (M70 fwt pattern)
Cerrokote by CAS (and very nice I might add)
Leupold VX-III 2.5-8 x 36

Weight 8 lbs on the nose with the scope and Talley lightweights

Looks like I have feeding issues that rams the last round out of the magazine firmly into the 11 O'clock position of chamber so I'll have to figure out what to do there.

Time to put some rounds downrange Monday if the weather is as predicted.

Very nice. I look at it as a "modern day" classic. 8lbs is nice. Tom

It is. That color pretty much matches the color and sheen of the Leupold matte finish.

Sure, you can get him here http://www.riflestockpainting.com./

As far as balance it's in the exact right spot for me right at the chamber. Following folks advice to go with a #2 contour to make the balance work was sound info.

The feeding issue seems to be a bit better as I play with it but it appears to have zero tolerance of less than full and deliberate actions with the bolt. I'm thinking some adjustments in the follower spring may solve it.

17 here this am so a good day to play with it and do some loading before football. (since the tenderloin already has a good slathering of mustard and rub on it!)
