I have a 220 Swift in a Rem 700 Classic, 14" twist according to Remington. Wonder if it would be worth it to try some 68 gr or heavier bullets in this thing.A few years ago I had a Savage 110 with 26" stainless barrel in 22-250.I don't know what the twist was but it shot 68gr.(or was it 69?)Hornady BTHP Match bullets very well.I would like to try them in my 220. A buddy of mine is shooting 60 gr Hornadys in his 22-250 Model 788 with very good accuracy.
[This message has been edited by rembo (edited February 19, 2001).]

Try it but don't be suprised if they key hole on paper, bullets of this weight are better stabilized with a 1 in 7-10" twist.

rembo, the new Nosler 60gr partitions shoot very well in my M788 22-250. You probably won't know until you try some in your Swift. Maybe you can find someone who'll give you a few to try, instead of investing in a whole box of the 68gr bullets?

Try the 63 gr. Serria bullets. They are fantastic out of my Ruger M77.

The 63 gr Sierra was designed for the 1-14'' twist. It's a very good bullet.
Write Sierra a letter and ask them for 5 69gr bullets. They will give them to you I bet. Load them to full velocity. The faster they go the faster they spin!
