I am not sure if I spelled it correctly or not. My question is can anyone tell me about the scopes from Swarovski from the Habcht line? Thanks Darryl

I have a Swarovski Habicht 1.25-4X24 on my 416 Rigby. Definitely world class in all respects. I have over 200 rounds on this rifle & the scope holds zero perfect. Some contend that Swarovski is not as recoil proof as Leupold but I have yet to verify that(based on actual performance/testing, not hearsay). Swarovski will overnight a loaner scope anywhere in NA if you have an emergency situation that requires a repair. Whether Swarovski is better than Zeiss,S&B, or high end Leupolds is another discussion, usually heated.

Darryl,
I have had experience with several Habicht scopes, all good I might say. Do you have a particular model or magnification range you are interested in?

My son-in-law's Mauser 66 in 7x64 carries an older Swarovski Habicht Nova in 1,6-6x42. Apart from the slight yellow tint common in Austrian scopes 2 decades ago, this scope is every bit as sharp as my contemporary Swaros.

Andre, they sure go through lots of trouble to mount scopes in Europe!

Yes they do but then results are there too. This is the German EAW (Ernst Appel Werke) swing-out mount. I've had several myself and still have one on my Sauer 202 in .30-06. Quite expensive, but a work of art with absolute return to zero.

Well, originally my 202 came in 7x64 and I recently bought a spare .30-06 bbl. (switching takes only minutes and both are equally accurate with 5 shot-groups in <.75 MOA, BTW). It's my standard "go to" stalking rifle which I mostly use on Roebucks. The new '06 bbl. drew its 1st. blood last september.
