Howdy all,

With the advent of Cerebus (Remington and 6 other gun companies) buying Marlin, I think the opportunity is ripe for us to petition them to produce a few runs of the TDS and the Mountie again. The need is there, the market is ripe. What say you all?

Would LOVE to see them produce a new "trapper" 39 with a 16" barrel!

I agree with everything except the half mag... Which is nothing more, than a useless styling fad...!

I, for one like the looks of the shorter mag. tube.
I have a Win 64, and Marlin XLR with the shorter tubes.
Actually, I like BOTH styles.
To each his own, guss that's why they make both.

I like the way you all think!

Stainless TDS, nice. I really want one.

George K. Kollitide, New Canaan, CT 06840

He's a big wig with Cerebus and running for the NRA BOD. Marlin has his mini-bio on their web site.

I had an address from a campaign contribution tax form, but Google won't give it up today??

Oh boy - all of these ideas sound good !

I'd really like a run of the mountie or shorter barrel trapper model especially - if they could offer those in stainless that would also be very very good, IMHO. Of course, I'd also want them to go back to the hammer style of the 60s and remove the hammer-block safety as well, but that probably is never going to happen...

Howdy all,

Well I just ran into an old friend who is the regional rep for Remington in WY and MT now. I told him he needs to plant this bug in Marlins ear. They need to come out and compete with henry as they are basically the only game in town for smaller lever rimfires. He said that they had actually been discussing this and when I told him of the interest in TDS or a carbine with a straight stock on the campfire he was interested. He said for Marlin to do this, they would need a larger distributor to order a lot of say 500+ carbines. he said MSRP would be crowding 600.00. Unlike many massed produced guns, he said the 39's are still hand fit= higher production costs.

What say you all? would any of you add your name to a list of interested buyers? If enough of us got on, maybe we could swing a group buyer discount.

It may be worth a shot.

Lets start a couple lists, say one for a blued/walnut 39 Trapper/TDS and the other for a SS/ Walnut TDS.

I'd also really like to see them make these also. Only problem is I can't like that rebounding hammer.I could live with the crossbolt if I have to, of course it would be great to see that go too!

An orignal Mountie, but with a better trigger.

Or better yet, if the patent has run out, copy the 94/22 early model carbines with good triggers.

I'd like the shorter barrel version, or a stainless like the Guide gun. Love my 39A!

That push button safety thing will have to go before I buy any more Marlins. I will keep buying older ones though.
