Visited Marlboro show on 1/26. Saw no (ZERO) 99's in the entire show and I was there in first two hours. Saw several signs at tables looking for 99's. Did pick up a nice little Stevens Marksman-at a price I used to pay for old 99's! 99's and 1899's have literally disappeared from the market around New England in the past year or so. Everyone seems to be sitting on them.
Regards, Jack

I think I just heard some discouraging words. But on the other hand, if you're gathering 99's as an investment, looks like good news. The buggers around here are getting harder to find, & most sellers seem to know what their stuf should command.

I went to a small, local gunshow yesterday and found one 1950 R in about 90% priced at $550. This is about the norm here, one or two at a time.
Shew me thy ways, O LORD: teach me thy paths. "there are few better cartridges on Earth than the 7 x 57mm Mauser" "the .30 Springfield is light, accurate, penetrating, and has surprising stopping power"
