I saw a TC 22 Classic Benchmark at the gunstore yesterday. It is awesome. It has a heavy barrel (lighter than Ruger 10/22 target), laminated varmint stype stock with wide forearm and a great trigger. I just looked and did not get a chance to shoot it, but based on looks and my TC 22 classic, I would buy one before a 10/22 target. You guys should check them out.

Ihave been trying to find one. They are pretty scarce. Too bad you are in Kalifornia. I would have you buy it and send it out here, but your gun laws are too weird. Flinch

I handled one at the PX. Overall a very nice rifle. The appearance of the 10 round magazine (banana clip) is an abortion though. Wish it was flush fitting, ala Ruger.
Of course, me being a southpaw, the cheekpiece was on the wrong side

Our rules are not that bad for rifles.
You would have to:
1) Find an FFL in your state that will transfer the gun to you. 2) Buy the rifle from the gun store in CA and give them a copy of the FFL paperwork where you want to recieve the gun. 3) The CA gun store will send the gun to the FFL you specified. 4) The FFL you supplied will do what ever paperwork/background check/waiting period required by you state and the feds before delivering the gun to you.
The price is about $450. I will give you the phone number of the gunstore if you want.

Not only do they let us shoot, they actually had enough pity on us to have a brass deflector incorporated on the M16A2. The 'A1 tossed plenty of hot brass in my face, and down the front of my shirt. That stuff do come out HOT
