Styling sucks. Looks like a cross between a mid 80's Mustang and a new Dodge Charger. YECH!!

The 69 & 70 Chevy's were just as good. The 71 & 72's just had a few upgrades besides the different grille.

Where are the pictures? I heard of a guy who chased a Firebird up the CT river valley with his Corvette. Corvettes handle better and go faster. (So I hear.)

The tech is old (by today's standards) so they don't have to pay for R&D.

What R&D?

We've been casting aluminum blocks with steel liners for a few years now.

and 'vettes cost a LOT more. smile

Les, I did not get flapjacks this morning, I had to go to the shop and put in half a day on an empty tummy. Yeah, that made me grumpy, but that had nothing to do with Chevy's lack of styling.

My hot rodding buddies (years ago)all had big blocks.

We had 2 69 Runners, 383 and 440 six-pack
Then the lone Chevy guy with a 396 Chevelle.

Spent many a night tearing up the country roads.....

I don't care for the front- but I could live with it if it had a 427! I would prefer hideaway headlights like the 69RS- my favorite of all the Camaros. I had a 69 coupe and a real rough 68 SS. My dad just completed his 69 SS- Daytona Yellow/black houndstooth. It's powered by a 350 RamJet crate motor and has an overdrive auto.

A friend of mine (back in the day) had a 340 Challenger with a factory Six-Pack. With some tweeking on the motor and tranny, it would pull the front end off the ground about 6" ... VERY IMPRESSIVE and would scare the living daylights out of you as a bonus.

Thanks Les grin

I'd give my left nut (have to get it out of the wife's purse) for a job at Warren Tech. Them boys get all the toys to work on.

Back when I worked at the engine plant they brought us three Corvettes and told us to drive em like we stole em. We went out as a group, two hourly and one salary employee with a fourty five minute block of time. I69 is less than a mile from the plant..............

One 'vette hit a deer, another died of a blown tranny. Don't recall how long #3 lasted. grin

The NY state highway patrol has a bunch of [color:blue]Hemi Chargers, and I recently got to see one wind out. A couple of knuckleheads blew by me at, or very near, double the legal limit. Just as they passed, I saw the reflection of the NYS police decals, hiding in the trees. Within a few seconds, that trooper went screaming by, accelerating at a very brisk pace. When the trooper caught up with the Bozos, he had to just about stand the cruiser on its nose, in order to break it down to match their 100+ mph.

They move out pretty darned well, for a moderately priced production vehicle.
