I have an older Remington 700 BDL built before 1992.

I ordered a precision fit limbsaver recoil pad for it several years ago and never got around to putting it on until last week.

It doesn't fit right. The pad is too short and wood hangs over each end of the pad.

Seemingly they make several different size pads for these stocks.

Can anyone tell me which one I need for my older rifle?

The quick fix might be to get their grind to fit pad. They are easy to fit if you follow the directions. If you don't want to do that, go to the limbsaver web page. They have scores of templates and a guide to help you find the correct pad. They are a great product and worth the effort.
