I went to the range today to try out a cheap ($20) BSA green dot optic I bought from Cabelas on my AR15 carbine. The main idea was to try out an optic I could use against Katrina zombies at close range with both eyes open. The initial theory seems to work out to around 50 yards. You can just keep both eyes open and hammer the center of a target all day long. However; this is a cheap optic and it was like looking through a coke bottle bottom past 25 yards and in the shadows. The left-to-right adjustment worked in reverse. Vertical was ok. It held zero for the short time it has been in use. The whole idea looks valid; but needs a quality scope to really work for me. Anyone looking for a cheap scope to experiments with? Thanks

I have been toying with trying one of them on my 458 build, just to see how long it takes recoil to disassemble it
