tried the JPEG, no processing. camera set on "fluorescent +0", tripod, remote shutter at (2.8 , 4.5 , 6.3, 9, 11 portrait) and (2.8, 5.6, 11 landscape)

lots of color to look at and easier to eval sharpness. at larger aperture seems good to me at 100%...

last time I ask, I swear!

I seriously believe like I said before... that lens is good to go. You already knew my opinion though

Looking at your other pics I thought you'd gotten a good one. Mine on the other hand was way soft at all apertures and I sent it back for recalibration. Took 2 weeks round trip but I'm happy now. Sigma and Tamron are both great affordable options,but I prefer Sigmas " like a tank" build. Next up for me is the 10-20 when finances permit.

I actually have that one and have not had any of the current qualms....
