99,

Im with you. I love those 21/22's and would "adjust" the bolt geometry and safety in a New York minute.
Call it "customized" and get on with the hunt!

Properly done, and especialy on the full length stocked rifles, the butter knife bolt handle adds a touch of class and helps keep the lines of those svelt rifles, slender.

There are some guys on Rimfire Central that make an after market spoon handle bolt to replace the factory job on the little full stocked .22's. It's fairly popular and looks great!

Thanks for everyones input. On friday I'll be picking up a new to me interarms fullstocked 30'06 with the butterknife. I'll try some med. rings holding a 4x leupy and see how things line up.

Great pictures, thanks!

Butter knife bolts ruin a rifle. Looks like crap.

I'd like to do that with my full stock CZ 452. I'll do some searching.

For manipulating the bolt, a standard bolt handle with a knob on the end, seems (to me) to give the best purchase. For looks, well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I just traded my 22F which I just loved but it wasn't practical as the scope was soldered to the QD mount AND the scope was not waterproof. Strickly a fair weather rifle. Sexy is too frequently impractical. I liked the looks of the whole rifle including the bolt handle but it also was in 8x57 which I didn't need. I traded it for a custom pre 64 Win in 243 and I'm happy....but I still miss that little sweety. cry

It also was perfectly balanced for my taste. Now since it was so light I'd do just about anything to own one in a varmit caliber. Fat chance of finding one.

I like the looks & feel of them, but never tried one in the field.

For some reason the T/C Icon can't gain any traction, too new maybe?

Hey
My .02 is that you can't please all. Its called style, some people have it and some people use round bolts. For those that have style they know that it is more pleasing to jack another round with a knife than a hammer. to each his own. I myself prefer falling blocks.

I had a block fall on me once, hurt like hell.
Seriously, where do mount the bolt handle on one of those?

Easier to make a butter knife than a ball. Ask any blacksmith.
