I've been upgrading my scopes this spring and have ONE left to deal with. I'm currently bouncing back and forth between the Meopta Artemis 3000 (3-9x42 30mm) and the Zeiss Conquest (3-9x40 1"), although if I could ever get any field reports on the Vortex Viper it might enter the picture. Any thoughts on a comparison between these two scopes? It'll be going on a 22-250 that sees quit a bit of action as a deer rifle inside of 150 yards.

The Meopta is pretty short on eye relief, particularly compared to that model Conquest. It's also not a top Meopta. In my estimation you need to step up to the Meostar line to get on the same level as the Conquest.

I've got a Meostar 3-10 and a Conquest 3-9 and between those two I think the Meopta is a little better scope, but I wasn't sure on the Artemis. Eye relief is not an issue for me. If anything I like a shorter eye relief because I'm a stock creeper, that and a 22-250 doesn't kick. So eye relief is a non-issue for me. Have you actually used an Artemis?

I haven't hunted with a Meopta, but I have compared them with the Zeiss as the light went down. I was pleased with the brightness and clarity of the Meostars, but put off by their eye relief and bulk. The Artemis was a step down.

I have a meostar 3-10 that I love and I agree with you compared to my 4-5 conquests it is better optically.

With where I am going with my optics and battery I think I am going to sell it but no doubt it is one heck of a scope.

I really like the conquest 3-9X40, a really nice scope.

Artemis series is discontinued.
From 1st hand experience - I tested several (too, I own some Artemis 2000 and Meostar, in 50 mm and 56 mm, though)
and see it one class down, compared to Meostar series.
