Have any of you ever used the two pc. extension rings offered from Weaver, Millett, Ironsighter, B-Square etc. I ordered my first AR, a Rock River EOP,(extended optics platform)where the ring mounting rail is built in 3/4" taller than a flat top. I am going to mount a Nikon Monarch 5-20x44 on it and it looks like I will have to try mount it as far fwd. as possible for proper eye relief. I don't want to get it mounted too high so thought about trying the extension rings that are high enough so the eye piece just clears the rail and can go forward a bit more than standard rings. Anyone have a similar setup?? Any other suggestions??Thanks, TB

TOOBuilder,

Take a look at The LaRue SPR-E mount.
It's the proper height and has forward cantilever to get proper eye relief with longer optics.
And as usual for LaRue stuff, it's stiffer than a pier.
They also return to zero everytime.

Best of luck to ya!

The Larue SPR mount is certainly the best solution for a regular flattop, but with your EOP, I think it will mount the optic higher than you will like.
