I would most graciously accept you offer as to any templates. I PM'ed you my email.

THANKS!!!!!

With your experience you ought to be a Prosecutor. Your probably tired of being around the LE side of the law. It get's exciting defending folks against DUI, simple narcotics possession etc. Let's not forget divorces, having to litigate over a can of greenbeans that the couple is fighting over. laugh

Actually, I was a HIDTA Prosecutor before I went to work for CBP. Just started looking around and noticed that half of my friends are LEO's and the other half are potential criminals. Since most of the potential criminals are family, thought it was time to help them out for a change. grin

Badoyz, I forgot my manners for a moment. I should have started that by saying that I am hoping you have a smooth transition to Civil practice, and I wish you all the best.

Evan Nappen is an attorney in N.J. who specializes in firearms law. Given N.J.'s bizarre and complex gun laws and his excellent track record of winning under the circumstances, he doesn't lack for business.

Two years ago he spoke at a CLE at the NRA Annual Meeting about how to grow a specialty practice in the field. His advice was to wear it on your sleeve. (Literally -- he was wearing a suit with Realtree shoulder patches and matching necktie at the time.) He also said has a replica Maxim gun in his outer office -- anyone who has a problem with that, he figures he probably wouldn't want as a client anyway!

Badboyz -- Good luck in your new practice. Hang that shingle high!

Bart:

You don't have to take anything in undergraduate school, so long as you've got a piece of paper that says "Bachelor's" on it.

Really, there are no pre-reqs.

You've got a BS in home brewing? You can be a lawyer. BFA in dance? Same-same.

Thinking about a new career yourself?

There may be some overlap. A guy who wants a divorce and shoots his wife has two things going on at the same time. smile

It's more to do with me only taking a worthwhile civil case(negligence) every couple of years and many of my criminal cases are assaults/DVs out of current divorce cases. Because of the time and paper involved, I do not any longer take low damage civil negligence cases and the good ones, with ample insurance coverage aare becoming few and far between..

But, my math does suck and as long as my clients don't fight their bill, I ain't going back to school!!

PS...I had to stop helping my kids in math by the time they were in their sophomore years of HS!!

Unfortunately, that's one crazy crime where there are no outs!
