I don't know if it's just cause I'm a dumb canuck but why do most of us put the first three numbers of our serial numbers up and then XXX?

Whats the deal with the X's, can someone scoff my rifle?

My Dad always said, "What others don't know won't hurt you". In most cases the last 3 numbers aren't needed so why put them out in cyber space for all to know? But, I don't know of anyone that has had problems. If you want to post the full number it's OK with me.

Must agree, don't give the dishonest any extra information!

If it's that important do it by PM.

Cyber Space can also mean Cyber Crims/Idiots!

I really don't want "all" to know exact details!

on another forum recently read a tale of a gent who posted serial numbers of a pistol he long owned, a claim came out of the blue that it had been recently stolen. He was able to satisfy his local cops but had a long and expensive struggle with ATF.

Thats the answer I was expecting Miki.

Maybe the one good thing about all this registration B.S. here in Canada is that it couldn't happen to someone here due to the registration cards we have for each rifle.

BTW Rick, did the administrator do something to the posts, I thought yours used to say campfire guide under it?

There are already cases known in Canada where a firearm has been legally registered and transferred a couple of times and then the Firearms Center decided that the gun was stolen and seized it. No compensation to the purchaser!. The only reason for firearm registration is the eventual confiscation.

They can have my 99's when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers!

As soon as the first rifle is confiscated, there will be thousands of rifles buried in the ground in Canada.

It looks like I'm getting close to a name change ...and a pay increase.

I don't know if it has changed. I guess I haven't been watching. Anyone else know?

Does everyone see my avator (Savage log picture under my name). I had a report from RonT that it just is a red "X" on his screen.

I think that 'Campfire Guide' meant moderator or similar. Now there's a yellow 'M' denoting that?

Rick all we get is red x Right clicking properties shows it is from your "My Documents" folder and not uploaded anywhere.

Mad Dog,

You need more rifles, your racks are half empty!!! You sure you're not burying 'bones'?

Those are just the 99's I take hunting, before the other guys got there. There's also a cabinet for the rifles that don't make the rack. Usually the guys have to sleep with the leftover!

I think that M's been there for awhile now but the "campfire guide" things been changed. Rick never mentioned guide in his post categories so maybe I was seeing things. Has anyone else ever seen Guide around here?

As for the pic, thats the inside of my deer camp, I was just trying out the add attachment feature and I think I must have figured it out.

Rick 99 Your avator has not come up for quite a while now. I just thought it was my system being difficult.

MD I see in the picture the important things in life. You know, the remote, trophies on the wall, but only two or three 99s? What's up with that? Rusty Z

Strange, it looks fine on my computer but since you are the 3rd that only sees the "red X" I think there must be something to it. I asked Rick Bin but got no reply. I guess I should ask again.

Do you see Savparts avator?

Rick,

Your's is the only avatar we cannot see. This is what is in properties if right clicked on the red 'x'.

file:///C:/My%20Documents/Pictures/Savage/avatar%20for%20the%2024.jpg

You can see it because to your computer there is such a file. To ours there is not. You'll need to delete what you have in your 'My Home' and re-upload the pic to your avatar.

Go to My Home/ Click edit for Personal information.../ find the 'browse' button near the bottom. Upload with that.
