Figured I better get them while they are still reasonable. It's a standard A2 style with 20" barrel. Paid $810.00 NIB.

I took it out shooting for the first time last weekend and put four mags through it without so much as a hiccup.

Sounds like a good choice.

I have a simple A2 Colt that I've had for over 20 years now. I don't do anything too serious with it, but it's nice to have along just going for a walk in the woods or casual shooting fun. I've been meaning to work up a 62gr TSX load for it. Figure it would make a good all around bullet for in the woods.

My 3 BM's have been that kind of reliable as well. 2 Varminters and a 16in. shorty.

Don't know if their prices have been reasonable or not these last few years as I've had mine for a bit longer. I do know that acquiring an AR now, knowing you'll get one sooner or later anyway, is likely a smart way to go given endless possibilities of not being able to purchase one (or any) in the future.

I think you'll grow to even like your BM more as you spend more trigger time with it.

Keep pulling the trigger, it'll keep going bang. Squirt a little lube at the bolt and keep on rockin'!

Marine,

Let me know what you come up with on that load. I haven't loaded much 223. But with the current price of ammo, I might do more.

Thanks from up here in GF.

I'll post results when I get it going. Haven't even bought the 62s yet....grin.

I do have a bunch of Nosler 77gr BTHP to load. I loaded up a few in Midway once-fired mixed brass. I obviously need to get a small-base die. I full-length sized it in a regular F/L die and have occaisional failure to feed where the base of the case is too fat to fit into the chamber all the way. Brass must have been originally fired in a machinegun with a real loosey-goosey chamber.
