Comes down to a Tahoe or Exhibition. Ignoring the obvious Chevy/Ford battle, anyone have some advice for my next rig?

The wife has a 04 burb and we are very pleased with it. It has about 65k miles on it and no problems. The only draw back is the fuel mileage but one has to expect that up front. I would buy one again but I would get the tahoe instead. The burb is not easy to park in tight parking lots.

We bought a 2004 Tahoe new (0000004 miles ;grin:) and it has been totally flawless. It's stable on the road, easy to pary (those 10 inches less are nice) and we've never run out of storage place.
The 5.3-liter engine also tows a trailer really well, even here in the Land of Mountains. Our trailer weighs 6,000 pounds wet and I'm surprised by the engine.
The transmission is a bit stupid at first. After the computer learns your driving habits, however, it gets pretty "smart."
Good luck in your choice.

My wife and I bought a new Tahoe in 2002. It has been a pretty good rig and now has 80K on it. Very easy to drive and very comfortable.
However, think we are going to buy a new Suburban as a replacement. We want the usable rear seats-family of five. The rear seats in the Tahoe are a short-term situation!

The THIRD ROW seats; absolutely agree. For the front and second row seats, the Tahoe and the Suburban are equal. Lots to think about here and if you have to seat 8 or 9, the Suburban is without peer. Thanks everyone. Going with a new Tahoe (lots of unnecessary gadgets. We considered the Ford and just wanted to be sure I wasn't be too brand loyal.

Don't worry about your brand loyality. I love my F150/7700 and will probably buy a Suburban over the long Expedition. I know that I preferred the last generation Tahoe over the last generation Expedition. Even though the Expedition was a bit larger.
Zapper, my third row seats are in the rear;) I think the middle seats in the Suburban have a little more room than the middle of the Tahoe.

I've owned and loved both and always thought that the only diff between the Tahoe and the Suburban was that the rear cargo area was lengthened. You're probably right; it is totally possible that the entire area behind the front seats is lengthened in the Suburban. Both the Suburban and the Tahoe are just great rigs. I'm a huge fan. Steve

When I bought my 98 expedition it had automatic 4 wheel drive and the GM trucks did not. Automatic 4 wheel drive operates as 2 wheel drive until it senses the wheels slipping and then switches to 4 wheel drive. It is much better for driving in slippery conditions where you can't us your normal 4 wheel drive.
