Obviously opinions differ. I like the S&B, and in fact this particular rifle shot so well, I upgraded from a Leupold to get the superior optics that S & B offer.

Yeah they sure do differ...

The V24 is a great scope and one of the best bangs for the buck! I've had several.

The grand slam is another good buy. The B&L 6-24 is a long scope so much so I was always worried about bending the darn thing. Not a nice thought.

The Japanese T series scopes are nice also. There is a Weaver T10 on ebay. I found them to have very clear pictures and second to none in tracking. BTW - The Grand Slam sports the same system as the T series. Too bad the V24 doesn't have it.

E,
I've never been a proponent of the 30mm Schmidt & Bender 4-16x50s. I tried two of them, way back when we were on the other board, and found the limitations of the design. I also wrote about the experience at the time.

I became a Schmidt & Bender Dealer after I tried the 4-16x50 34mm PM II. I still think, fwiw, they are finest SWS Scope in the world. The PM II Gen IIIs are that much better. If only you could get a Premier Reticle Gen 2 Mil-Dot in the PM II Gen III they would be THE answer. I have the 4-16x50 PM II Gen III on my HD Rifles .300 WM and the 3-12x50 PM II Gen III on my GAP .308 Win.. They are durable in the extreme and very intuitive.

That said I don't consider Schmidt & Bender the answer to every question. But you already knew all of this....(grin)

Regards, Matt.

Btw, No plans to become a Leica Dealer as Chris Farris at SWFA treats me soo well... Speaking of which my 8x42 BLs should be in the mail this week. It is shaping up to be a Very Merry Christmas!
