I have a 300 savage that over the years I have not been able to find any info on. The number is 1134xxx It was made in Westfield Mass and has a 21 in barrel. This is the best shooting gun I have and am looking for the date of this one and the value of it. It was a hunting gun it is of average to good condition
Thanks for any thoughts on this gun <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I tihnk it's a late 1965 or early 1966, it's somewhere close to year end. On the front of the lever there will be a small circle with a number then a letter. This is the lever boss. If you can post it, it will tell me the year and I can update my numbers.
As for worth, what model is it? Does it have a gold trigger, I'd like to know when the F's stopped being produced with them.

You say in the subject of your post - 99m. If the rifle is stamped 99-M on either the frame or the barrel right side and has a monte carlo stock it is a Model 99-DL. This model was introduced in 1960 and made until 1973.
Value depends on originality, condition, and desireability. Your date on manufacture may be about the time they switched to impressed checkering rather than cut checkering. This for most will lower the value.

Thanks for the new info, I'll jot it down.
I was sure off on the date. It's a 1967 model 99F, so at least I know the F's still came with the gold trigger at that year. I'm starting to think they had gold triggers on all the F's right up to when they came out with the A series.

I agree with date of manufacture. But that and a gold trigger does not neccesarily make a Model 99F. Back to my original question is it stamped 99-M and does it have a monte carlo stock - if so it is most likely a Model 99-DL.

On 3-65 I think Murray means that all the DL's from that date were all 22", not just the one year.

This gun has a checkered Monte Carlo Stock and is stamped on the frame savage 99m. Most of the stamping has red ink in it. The Hi-pressure steel-proof tested is stamped with white ink.
Thanks for all your input on this gun. This gun is so nice to shoot it feels like I'm shooting a 22cal
