Great News! Just went to the Charles Daly site to check on the status of the importation of these items, which have been held up by a Congressman from Alabama. They have now been cleared and according to Charles Daly will be available for sale in the U.S. early in 2004. They suggest in January.
I don't know if anyone else has been waiting for this news, but if anyone is interested in acquiring a really neat, short action for the .223 this is it. Kinda like the old Sako's were.

This may sound silly, but I have always thought that it would be neat to throw a 6mm/.223 barrel on one of those mini mauser actions for a knocking around gun.

I have a Mini Mauser that I built a 17 Mach IV around. You can read all about it here RVB Precision IMO the CZ actions are much better actions. The Mini Mauser has a very balky bolt action feel. Every one I've tried feels the same. The triggers are not in the same league as the CZ triggers. And there are no aftermarket triggers available for either rifle. Stocks for the Mini Mauser are available through the Great American Stock Company. [img] [image] http://images5.fotki.com/v56/photos/3/36012/69369/MiniMauser1-vi.jpg[/img]

I like the CZ 527 actions, but think the clip on them is an abomination. Could I build a rifle with a 527 action, but use a floorplate magazine instead of the clip? And would I still be able to get 3 or 4 rounds in the magazine? I'd like to build a small, light rifle in 6.8 SPC.

I have a mini-mauser as new, styrofoam box, papers, and shipping cover, one of the first with a very low serial number in 223 caliber. Am selling down my collection of 60 years. Interested, make offer.--- me75410@yahoo.com -- no <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
