Saw some in 20 ga at one of the local shops? For very little scratch .... is it a case of getting what one pays for?

Of the ones I've seen, yeah, you get what you pay for within reason. That and the fact that Russia wants American dollars.

if the shotguns made now for Savage,,m411,,are anything like the combination gun I bought is any indication,,,, they are great,,a bit OVER-BUILT,,robust to the extreme and DAMN ACCURATE!!! a little heavey in the trigger,,any good smith can remedy that,,,I would buy another at 2x the price,,,I love 'em.

I thought that the 20 ga. was a little heavy. I think that it's built on the same frame as the 12 ga. I was a Kahn 20 ga. o/u at a gun show last weekend. I liked it better than the Bakail. It was lighter and had better fit and finish for about the same money.

I bought the 20 o/u for my dad about 3 years ago because he wanted another 20 after I bought his Beretta from him. The beretta is an older BL-4 nice gun light and fast handling. The Bakil seems to weigh about as much as a Browning Citor. The fit and finish are way above average for a Russian shotgun but not near up to Beretta. Rather they would be in the class as the lower grade Remington. The action was very tight and very solid. This gun shoots nearly as well as any o/u I have shot in the 12 guage range what I mean it is a little heavy for a 20 thus swings like a 12.The up side is recoil even with heavy 20 loads it is very mild. A friend of mine bought a used Bakil just like the one I bought for my dad, he shoots sporting clays with it and does pretty good, I can say his scores did improve over his Rem. 1100. However there is a lot ot be said about how he fits of the gun in this case. The Russian made guns are made to fit large people not like so many of the Asian made guns that seem to have a short pull.
The Bakil will never be a Beretta but you can by three or four Bakils for the price of one Beretta. Some say you get what you pay for, but sometimes you find a real deal, the Bakil is not quite the real deal but it's not far off.
