Hi y'all... long time no post....

I'm looking for a new front sight for my 24DL... I thought the Marbles uni-ramp looked like it might be worth a try. There are lots of places to order it on-line in the states, but how about up here in the great white north?? The local places carry some marbles stuff, but just give you that blank stare when you ask for something other than the couple things they have in the cabinet.

I've heard that lately customs is stopping any gun parts, scopes, sights etc shipped from US to Canada... Anyone know any different??

Thanks,
Brent

Try Ellwood Epps in Edmonton, he's a Marbles dealer and has these sights listed.

FYI...

While looking around the site I followed it to the Old Western Scrounger (OWS) home page. I noticed that OWS no long lists the .303 Savage as one of their loadings.

Hi,

Elwood Epps is still in Ontario, near Orillia. I think Mad Dog is aware of this, perhpas he was thinking about something else.

Unless they moved in the last 2 weeks!

Check their gunsmith section on the website. About the Drill and Tap.... Do you think it costs more? Or maybe he won't do it?

Rick I didn't know they no longer carried it, I was in my local gunshop today and saw 4 boxes of OWS on the shelf in 303 Savage made out of 303 british brass. Junk in my books, as I can still dig up original brass and fully loaded shells stamped 303 savage for about $40 Canuck. I still know where there's 2 boxes I haven't picked up. 170 and 190 gr.

I figure they found that you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear and stopped trying.

Rick99

For information only, OWS recently moved from here (Yreka, CA) to somewhere in the Reno/Sparks - Nevada area I think. I looked at their 303 Savage ammo offerings and was not greatly impressed. Marc Cumberland gave me a few of their rounds to try out which I never have done yet. I just do not shoot my TD 303 much for some reason. Now I am glad that I did not use it as it does not sound like a good idea.

Marc told me at the time they got a good deal on 12,000 rounds of brass from Australia and they have someone in Klamath Falls, Oregon loading for them. He gave me that guys number so that I could try to determine what powder/primers and bullets were being used. When I called them, you would of thought I was asking for the the receipe for Bush's famous baked beans and was told to forget it.

Was the 12,000 rounds of brass 303 Savage or 303 British? I've not know them to use Savage brass for reloading and that is what has gotten them the bad reputation.

So I was looking at the Elwood Epps ad on Marble sights and notice that it has adjustable windage - unlike my Lyman tang sight. Was this model of Marble made for the 99? and is it still available? Anyone know?
