I know my reloading dies are 7/8 inch in diameter by 14 threads per inch. Will someone please tell me what thread the 700 barrel has, that screws into the action, using that system?
Thanks,
Wayne

IIRC, They are threaded 16 V-TPI, on a 1.050" diameter.

It is a 1 1/16 - 16 thread. The o.d. of the barrel thread should be about 1.055". Experienced machinists measure threads using a 3 wire system, thread triangles or a pitch micrometer. That is not necessary, of course, but is best for consistent results.

Major thread diameters are seldom the same from one receiver to another, so when barreling a rifle it's smart to use the receiver as your thread gauge as you make the last few passes to take the threads to final depth.
