What is the forums feelings on the 'Whisper' series of rifles and calibers. Am thinking I might just go down that road after seeing one in .338 cal. TIA

Used in conjunction w/ a sound suppression device (where permitted by law) they are way cool. For a backyard rifle range, or for pest/predator control, the "Whisper" cartridges can be just what the Doc ordered.

They are very quiet when using subsonic loads and a suppressor. However they have a trajectory like a rainbow when shooting heavy bullets in the 1000 FPS range. This is a 300 Whisper I built on a 700 Remington, it has a 1-8 twist to stabilize 220-240 grain bullets at subsonic speeds. good luck. Hey LindsayNZ - just what are the laws governing suppressors in NZ ? Is it like a lot of Europe - no restrictions? Or is it more like here - plenty of restrictions, and sometimes virtually outlawed?
