LC,
Not a big ford fan, but thats a different post. Wanted to see who the ford foundation is. Here it is in their words...from their faq sheet... http://www.fordfound.org/about/faq_other.cfm
"Is the Ford Foundation connected to the Ford Motor Company?
The Ford Foundation and the Ford Motor Company are separate and independent organizations, with distinct managements and boards of trustees. There is, however, an historical connection. Henry Ford and his son, Edsel, founded the Ford Foundation in 1936 with a broad charter to promote human welfare. When the Foundation became a national and international organization in 1950, its assets consisted almost entirely of non-voting Ford Motor Company stock bequeathed from the estates of Henry and Edsel Ford. In order to diversify its endowment, between the years 1956 and 1974, the Foundation sold and otherwise disposed of its Ford Motor Company stock and invested the proceeds in other securities. The Foundation no longer owns Ford Motor Company stock and no affiliation exists between the two organizations, except for the historical connection. "
So, it seems hard to blame ford motor company for the foundations actions...
John

I have been a Ford Owner all my life. I dont know what the next one will be. I do know that Dogde is sponsoring DODGE Outfitters a national organization of Outfitters, so the next one may be a dodge. bcat

John .... While it may be true that the two are not legally affiliated in any way, I prefer to err on the side of caution, given the stakes involved. I would think that the Ford Motor Co. would insist on making a very strong public statement in support of the 2nd Amendment, and distancing themselves from the Ford Foundation in that regard, if they, in fact, are opposed to the U.N.'s gun control scheme. Until then, I will continue to hold them suspect, and out of contention for my business.
bcat .... If all the car companies decide to support disarmament, you can still commute on the back of Ol' Trigger (?) with your head held high. LC,
I agree, it would be great if Ford were to positivly affirm the 2nd. You don't mind if I don't hold my breath, though, do you?
John

Not at all, John, and I won't either! That's my point. I doubt that we have many multi-national companies in our corner. They already have this globalization thing down to an art form. And it won't hurt my feelings to drive a Chevy!
