You can add two more to the list 1931 Sav250 and 1954 243w A Honda XL 250 and a Sav99 250 are very bad news for the Western Australian wild Goat population

Hi. Found this forum from another forum. Saw the reference to the Mod 99. My father has a .300/410 breakdown. It has the rotary magazine although the 410 is a single shot. He calls it his camp/survival rifle. I am not a collector of Savages but I thought I would let you know there is another one out there surviving in original form.

I have a few to add but you will have to wait until I get home to give an accurate count with model number as I bought them sight unseen and must see the results before saying what they are...

Folks - I have a 1949 Model 99 in .300 Savage (#506xxx). This gun was bought new for my Pop when he was 12. Its been heavily used for deer hunting by him in PA. It's my priniciple Hog shooter out here in California. My Dad tells me he took 2 inches off the barrel (bummer) although I can't tell by looking. Iron sight is a Redfield mounted at about the same time the gun was bought. Gun is very very accurate. Don't know what the letter designation is for this gun. Would be interested to know. Add this one to the global count.

Otto, in 1949 there were only 2 models. A schnabel forearm would make it a 99EG, a rounded forearm would make it a 99R. Welcome to the forum, that's a priceless 99 you have with some great history!

I just purchased a 1941 99 takedown in 250-3000. I believe it would be the 99G. Serial #402XXX. All original and matching, great shape. Coolest gun I've ever owned.
