I'm having a rifle built for me that may go to Africa. The stock finish I selected is a camo type. Natural Gear from B&C. From what I understand camo clothing is taboo in a number of African countries, what about camo rifle stocks.????

Just my opinion ......and I have so few.

depends on camo pattern... if a woods like or hunting camo pattern, no worries... if a woodland/military type camo pattern, depending on exactly where you go/ who you run into...may become an unwanted/unneeded trouble.

Why do that?
Since you won't be wearing camo clothing, any degree of "invisibility" of your rifle will do nothing to make yourself more invisible to the game.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Last year leaving Zimbabwe the person checking the firearms out asked if the bolt action rifle which has a woodland camo stock was a semi-auto.I told her no and that it was probably the stock color that confused her.She accepted that and anyone else that looked at it in Zim. and RSA never mentioned the stock.

Should be no problem, so long as the pattern is not a 'military looking' pattern. Actually, plain black is as good a camo as is needed and does not raise anyone's suspicions. Besides, why would anyone paint a nice piece of walnut camo? You ARE using Walnut, right?
