I've tried crocs but couldn't get 'em to fit right--didn't know they had a model with velcro straps, I'll have to check those out. They do look great as a lightweight in-camp shoe.

That was a few years ago and the pond was 6 miles in...

5 of us caught over 50 brookies that weekend. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it.

Wow that a trek carrying a canoe, but 50 brookies sounds like a good payoff.

I'd walk over hot coals carrying twin three year olds with dirty diapers to catch 50 brookies!

Here's a couple afternoon's catches when not chasing elk last September. Flattops in Colorado. I use a 5 ft Browning spinning rod for the small creeks and beaver ponds.

Was a bit of a walk to get to these little lakes - about four days on the trail in Washington before we got there. Well worth it too! smile

Beautiful! I love the Cascades... I'd venture a bet that those lakes might still be frozen right now with our weird weather in WA this year. Looks like gett'in into CERTAIN parts of the backcountry in WA is gonna be a few more weeks still.

Nice pic's!!

We usually don't have that sort of climb associated with our trout ponds...lol...

Brad- Those pic's were taken on the NPT a bit south of your NPT shots that you scanned a while back. Mine aren't quite that old, but still required a scanner... grin

I carry one of these 10-8 Blackjacks these days for solo use.

The 'jack saves over 20 lb's from the red canoe pictured above.
