We are right now making our first run of 7mm 140 gr VLD. We do not have testing facilities on site so when we make a new bullet we send out a request for shooters who can test this bullet. Typically, the bullets are tested by target competition shooters.

In this case we are making a change. The 7mm 140 gr VLD was made due to numerous requests from game hunters. For that reason we are going to see if there are any hunters who want to help us test this bullet.

As a tester you will receive 1 box of 7mm 140 gr VLD at no charge. If you are interested please send an email to Michelle Gallagher at michelle.gallagherbergerbullets.com (do not send me a PM). Your email needs to include the following data:

-Name, address, phone and email
-Details about your rifle and which case you will use
-Distance at which you can shoot the bullets
-Date that you can complete the test and submit your results.

We want these bullets tested in many different rifles and at different distances so do not think that if you have only 100 yards available to you that you will not be selected.

I am primarily interested in how these bullets shoot (accuracy). These bullets are made the same way we make all our VLDs so I am confident that they will perform properly upon impact with game. If you can take an animal with these bullets as a part of this test that would be great but it is not expected.

It is my sincere hope that this new Berger 7mm 140 gr VLD will be a successful and welcome addition to the options for hunters.

Regards,
Eric

Thx for the opportunity, and if you need anything done with the new 338 bullets I'd gladly run them thru my 340 and my 338 WSM.

The email address is:

michelle.gallagherbergerbullets.com

Copy and paste it to your email. It should be working fine but I sent a test email through my personal account to see if there are any problems. So far so good.

Regards,
Eric

Love to give em a go,, What is the BC on these bullets? I currently run the 168 VLD in my 7 Rem Mags and STW with great success in accuracy, both long and short range and lazer beam trajectory and thanks to the guys at Best of the West I have followed their lead to confidence in killing ability at long range. Will also try them in my 7-08, and 280 imp.,, Will be able to knock down a few whitetail does and see how they hold together,, in September in North Dakota as they have to many in my unit and are having an early season. I can test them to max yardage this summer on the ranch in Montana,, love the VLD's

Eric,

If you guys still need testing this fall, I can help. I am hoping to draw a coues tag this year and if so, I'll be more than happy to do hunting situation and experience with them.

Untill then, we got no hunting going on but jack rabbits and yotes, so I don't want to waste good ammo or time on small game. but on coues, if they are as good as the other bullets, I'l do a test and story thing on it.

Let me know,
Kique

The recommended twist rate is an 11" or faster so the 10" twist barrels will work just fine. The calcualted BC is .509.

Enrique,

For this particular test I am most interested in the accuracy of the bullet so you are welcome to submit your details. I am confident that they will perform on small and large game since the construction is the same as the other VLDs.

The biggest challenge with any new bullet is determining if the die is good. You can measure everything to see if dimensionally all is well but until you put 50K PSI and 240K RPM on a bullet you just don't know for sure what will happen.

We focus on making good bullets through strict process control so I believe all will be well but the proof is down range.

Regards,
Eric

Email sent. Will be glad to try them out in a couple of 7-08s and a 7wsm. If they are accurate in my guns, I'll use them on whitetails this season.

I'm excited about these 140's. I hope they extend my reach past the 500yd mark where most bullets start loosing their accuracy in my guns.
