Had a pretty good day at the range with the ULs.
Pic is not the best in the world.

The top target is with the 223 and 22.9 grains of H322 with Hornady 55 g sp and the bottom target center is with the 308 and 43 gr of IMR 3031 and 150 grain Sierra SPs.

The three to the right of the center target is with 43.5 gr of IMR 4895 and Nosler BTs. The one by itself to the left of center target is my first shot with the IMR 3031 then the center 3 was next.
The black sticker is where I shot this target the other day, and just stuck another red sticker over the old one, got to save some money for gas.

Not the best in the world but pretty good for a old blind man and 20 inch lightweights I thought!

JMO, but I've owned more than a few Rugers, including UL's, and your .308 might benefit from a 1/2"x1" piece of an old plastic credit card in the bottom of the barrel channel just in back of the black forend tip line.

Just loosen up the action screws & slide it in - then re-tighten them as usual.

Good shooting. I had a Ruger UL in 223 a long time back. I don't recall ever getting a group as good as that but I didn't handload then. Used 55 grain Black Hills soft points. It had a Leupold 6x compact with AO on it. IMO at that time, a well balenced combination. Those old compacts didn't have much eye relief but ok for a 223. Killed a lot of squirrels with it. Good rifle for what it was designed for, wish I still had it.
