report?

are the barrels threaded similar/same as a Sagage? That is, will a savage barrel screw in without modification?

Petzal did shoot one. The results from latest issue of Field and Stream test:

Marlin XL7 30/06
Best Group .668 Avg Group .907 Federal Match Ammo

"A sub MOA rifle for way under $400, the brand new Marlin XL7 is helped by an excellent trigger, a reinforced synthetic stock, and absolutely no bells or whistles anywhere. Its barrel is one of the roughest I've ever seen, but it still shoots extremely well. Marlin did everything right on this one."

I'm just the messenger, no flames please.

Bought one in .270 for my 13 year old. Hasn't been to the range yet. Bolt travel is nice and smooth, trigger feels good. As it's a birthday present it won't get to the range until the end of the month.
