Like the title says, what's best for storage of a synthetic bag, rolling it in it's bag or stuffing it in it's bag? The bag is a Cabelas 3D if it matters.

I just lay mine out as if it was in the tent in my crawl space. I have about 7 different bags between my wife and I but I have a crawl space to store them all outta the way seems to keep them with decent loft. But if I was cramped for space in my house I'd probably just stuff each one into a different 55 gal. garbage bag and call it good.

Stuffing it in a storage bag (not your stuff bag) is the best way. Storage bags are available from various outfits, or a super size pillow case is an option. Hanging is OK, but switch ends occassionally to keep the fill from packing to one end on the bag. Casey

I just lay mine flat under my bed at home and stuff it only when I'm taking it in the field.

mine all hang in storage sacks, usually throw the original stuff sack in with it so I can find the dang thing.
but I have other stuff sacks hanging on an old shoe rack, some compression type, some just regular that I use for keeping the boys clothes separate from mine.

I've to to admit that I've never heard of storage bags . How big are they and of what material are they made of?

They are generally made of light cotton or mesh. Large laundry bags will work depending on your bag. The important thing is that it doesn't get compressed. It also helps to be very breathable so your bag doesn't retain any moisture after your trip. I'd like to put mine under the bed... if there was room.

the other thing that works good rather than pillow cases (too small ime) is larger type, thinner material cotton game bags, they've already got the draw cord to hang em with.

How about under the bed in the spare bedroom?

I keep mine in it's stuff sack year round as recommended by the manufacturer. I would never roll sleeping bag as you will not be able to compress it as much as a stuffed bag.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

When in use, I use a stuff sack with compression straps. Its far easier than trying to get all that into a simple stuff sack. For down or synthetic. of sourse, in the off season they are stored uncompressed, manufctr recommended.
